Privacy Policy
FightRead ("we", "us") turns fight footage into written scouting reports. To do that we need a small amount of your information and, for a short time, the video you send. This page says exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and when it is deleted. Short version: we keep your email and the report, we delete the video, and we never post your footage.
Who we are
FightRead is operated by Chung Nguyen, an individual business based in Vietnam, serving customers mainly in the United States. Contact for anything in this policy: hello@fightread.app.
What we collect
- Submission details — your email address, the link to the clip, the discipline, mode (opponent or self), fighter description, skill level, ruleset notes, and where you heard about us. Collected through our submission form.
- Video footage — the clip at the link you give us. We download a copy only to produce the report.
- Payment details — handled entirely by our payment provider (Whop and its processors). We never see or store your card number. We receive your email, what you bought, and the transaction status.
- Feedback — the rating and comments you reply with after a report.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) kept by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, for security and performance. We do not run advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To produce and deliver your report, and to answer your questions about it.
- To improve how we analyse footage. Feedback and the report text may be used for this; your video is not retained for it.
- To show example reports publicly — only if you ticked "Yes" on the submission form, and only with names, faces and identifying details removed.
- To send you an email when your report is ready and, at most, a short follow-up about it. We do not send marketing newsletters unless you opt in separately.
Automated analysis
Reports are generated with the help of an AI video-analysis model (currently Google's Gemini API) and then reviewed by a person before they are sent. To do this, the footage and your brief are transmitted to that provider for processing. Under the API terms we use, the provider does not use this data to train its models. The provider may retain data briefly for abuse monitoring under its own policy.
What happens to your video
We delete our copy of the footage, and the copy uploaded to the analysis provider, as soon as the report is finished — normally within 24 hours, and never later than 7 days after you submit. The link you gave us remains in our submission sheet; we don't re-download from it.
We never publish, share or sell your footage. Sharing a report publicly (see above) never includes the video itself.
How long we keep the rest
- Submission details, reports and feedback: kept while you are a customer and for up to 2 years after your last report, so you can ask for a copy and so we can learn from the feedback.
- Payment records: kept as long as our payment provider and accounting rules require.
- Server logs: as set by Cloudflare's retention, typically days to weeks.
Who we share it with
Only service providers we need to run FightRead: Google (Forms, Sheets, Gemini API), Whop (payments), Zoho (email), Cloudflare (hosting). Each processes data on our instructions under its own privacy terms. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
Footage of other people
In opponent mode the clip usually shows someone other than you. You are responsible for having the right to use that footage (for example, it is publicly posted fight footage, or footage you own). We analyse it only to prepare your report, we don't identify the other fighter by name, and we delete it as described above. If you believe you appear in footage submitted to FightRead and want it removed, email us and we will delete it and any report derived from it.
Age
FightRead is for adults. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must submit on your behalf and the report is delivered to them.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to: send you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for improvement. Email hello@fightread.app and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/UK or California, you have additional statutory rights which we will honour on request.
Security
Data is stored with the providers listed above, all of which use encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who produce your report. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever discover a breach affecting your data we will tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and, for current customers, mention it by email. The version on this page is always the current one.
